On this tough economy we are all cutting back on a lot of things. But a recent study found that there are some things people are not willing to cut back on. For example their internet and cell phone services.

On the other hand, people are willing to cut on a lot more things such as changing the habit of eating outside, cut back on the satellite radio and not buying those high end cosmetics.

People are cutting back on their coffee and lattes. Good bye for those days were people were paying $4 for a latte. Sales at Starbucks dropped 9 percent in the last three months of 2008 forcing the company for more closes and cutting hundreds of jobs.

However, Starbucks seems to find its way in this harsh economy as they are lunching the $3.95 promotion. Customers can get a 12oz. latte with oatmeal or coffee cake or 12oz. brewed coffee with a choice of breakfast sandwich or roll.

It is the first time that Starbucks has made a “Value Menu”. What’s next for Starbucks a “Dollar Menu”?

What are you cutting back on? 

 You do not have to break the budget to get your beloved one a smile. Here are some quick ideas for Valentine’s Day: 

• A lot of people decorate using flowers which cost more than $25 for 4 flowers; with this bad economy you may want to change to red tissue and shredded paper/wrapper. You can find it at your local store for 99 cents each.     
•  As for the cake couple slices or pieces would be great.  
• Going to a restaurant might be a good idea if you already had a reservation, they will be so booked this Saturday.     
• Gift cards works like magic, but try something unique like getting her/him a gif card for message, or spa ;-)        
• Romantic movie with a scoop of ice cream instead of popcorn would be a good thought.
• Remember you can always have a great romantic movie for free, check your local library.
•  Write a note and put it on his/her car windshield or in an unsuspected place.

Remember it is the thought that counts after all.
